RFID is highly integrated into MIL-Comply, especially Labeling, which collects and organizes RFID and UID data for WAWF submission as it prints labels. But there is a tradeoff between efficiency and the cost of RFID printers which makes it more cost-effective for some enterprises to use pre-encoded RFID labels/tags.
Pre-encoded RFID tags are simply labels that are printed by a third-party vendor, including Mil-Pac. They are generally of some generic format, without any reference to a contract or container contents. There is considerable variability in the formatting of these labels, as they are not controlled by Mil-Std-129. In fact, there is no requirement for printing of any kind to be on the label. They can actually can be just the RFID chip and antenna, stuck on the box is some convenient manner.
RFID Manager's Tag Generator may be used to create RFID data for submission to WAWF as part of a shipment's Receiving Report or in the form of a Pack Update.
The step is to select the Tag Generator from the RFID Manager Tools menu. You will be asked to open a shipment that has been previously created in Shipper, Labeling or Contract Manager. That data is required to create either the DD250 or Pack Update. Its CLINs are associated with each RFID record created.
The Shipment Editor in Shipper and Contract Manager has a Shipment Tag Generator built in its Line Item Editor.
