Items in possession of the contractor for service that cannot be returned to stock in A Condition are generally scrapped. The UID Registry is informed of the disposition of the item and the entity taking control of it is identified. This is done by editing the GFP Item Information and selecting the Life Cycle Event button. The item must be Property In Possession of Contractor (PPC) status having successfully been taken custody of.
Custody of the item is then transferred that party via WAWF Property Transfer (DD1149) rather than the Reparable Receiving Report (RRR). This is an advanced feature that the Government's test system is not fully able to test.
