GSA Exterior Container Label (FED-Std-123H)

GSA Exterior Container Label (FED-Std-123H)

Container labels for General Services Administration (GSA) contracts must conform to one of two federal standards.   Mil-Std-129 is the controlling standard for GSA shipments delivered to defense depots, such as those operated by the DLA.   Otherwise, labels must conform to FED-Std-123H.   Labeling includes four compliant container label formats for GSA shipment, illustrated in the MIL-Comply Label Formats Web Link to PDF file document.

GSA Shipment Automation

Contractors may utilize the EDI (X12-850) Purchase Orders they receive through their Value-Added Network (VAN) to automate the creation of GSA-compliant labels and WAWF Receiving Reports and Invoices.   GSA order processing in Shipper uses integrated labeling (Fed-Std-123 / Mil-Std-129) and WAWF EDI submission to create a highly optimized shipping and invoicing process.
